Academics

"Our students consistently achieve at an exceptional level, with 93% scoring above the national average and many earning spots in the national top ten rankings—both overall and in individual subjects such as English and Mathematics."
At Wills Primary School, we take pride in our strong tradition of academic excellence and our ongoing dedication to implementing best-practice teaching strategies tailored to young learners.

In our Kindergarten Department, students are introduced to the essential skills that form the basis for future learning. These early years lay the groundwork for a more structured academic foundation. As students progress into our Junior Department, they continue developing and refining these core skills. Throughout both departments, students benefit from a rich curriculum that includes not only core subjects but also specialist-led instruction in areas such as Art, Music and Movement, Physical Education, Science, Drama, Health and Family Life Education, Social Studies, and Spanish.
While our academic programme aligns with the Ministry of Education’s Primary School syllabus, we go a step further by offering enrichment sessions and a variety of extracurricular activities designed to broaden each child’s learning experience.
Our teachers are committed to nurturing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to engage actively and thoughtfully in their learning. School-wide activities and assemblies are thoughtfully designed to promote key character traits such as empathy, respect, honesty, responsibility, compassion, and perseverance.

We also celebrate and reward students not just for academic achievements, but for embodying values like helpfulness, integrity, kindness, effort, and being an outstanding class citizen.

In their final year, students are carefully prepared to sit the Barbados Secondary School Entrance Examination (BSSEE), commonly known as the Eleven Plus. Each year, our students perform exceptionally well, and we are consistently proud of their achievements and growth.
